Yaupon, Theobromine and your Telomeres
Researchers at King’s College London just published findings in the Aging research journal showing “Theobromine is associated with slower epigenetic ageing." In particular, they found that regular consumption of theobromine is associated with increased telomere length in healthy individuals. You may recognize theobromine as the main active ingredient in chocolate, often considered a mood-booster, heart-opener and aphrodisiac. If you don’t recognize telomeres, though, you’re not alone. The Nobel Prize was given for their discovery just 15 years ago.
